The best way to maintain a healthy work-life balance is by making time for self-care and relaxation every day. Schedule it in your daily routine and stick to that schedule, just like you would any other appointment or meeting.

There are many different things you can do during this time period. Some people enjoy reading, others prefer listening to music, while some prefer wear an automated device to massage their head and eyes.

You might even want to take a short nap or go for a walk around the neighborhood. Different things work for different people.

As a self-employed or a small business owner, it is important to remember to take care of yourself. Otherwise you will burn out and unable to do your best in your business.

The best time to schedule relaxation time into the day is before 6.00 AM. That way, if you are an early riser, you can get up earlier than usual and use that time for yourself.

Use your early time in the morning to exercise, take a bath and eat breakfast.

If you are not an early riser, then you can use the first hour or so of the day before the phone starts ringing or emails start rolling in for business-related tasks.

Anyway I encourage you to get up early in the morning. It's really good for you.

Try to wake up earlier every morning. If you can't wake up at 4.30 AM, try to wake up at 5.30 AM.

Practise yourself to get up earlier. You have more time for yourself if you always wake up early in the morning.

Tips to wake up early is to sleep early. 6-hour sleep is plenty including 10-minute of short nap in the afternoon.

2. Accept You Cannot Control Everything That Happens Around You

The main reason for the anxiety epidemic is that people are wrestling with what they cannot control. The more we try to control our lives, the more paralyzed we become.

Focusing on what you can control is a much healthier approach. It is important to accept that there are things in life that you cannot change and to focus instead on what you can change within yourself and your business.

Often, the anxiety stems from not having enough self-confidence or self-esteem or not feeling like you are doing enough. In this section, I want to show how anxiety affects small business owner's daily life and how they can combat depression when it comes up.

If you are feeling anxious, depressed or stressed, you are not alone. We all go through these periods and it's important to remember that we cannot control everything that happens in our lives.

We need to take care of our mental wellbeing and learn how to accept the things we cannot control.

People who struggle with depression often engage in negative self-talk. This is a way of thinking that leads to negative feelings of worthlessness, hopelessness and helplessness.

“I will fail forever.”

“I can never do anything right.”

“I should give up!"

This type of thinking often leads to depression and other mental health issues.

Firstly, set a goal in your mind. What is your goal?

Let's start with small goal. Completing simple tasks can also be your goal too.

Of course you need to write a 2000 words article to improve your blog's SEO (if you have a blog). However, start small is better than nothing. Do something to keep your momentum up.

Motivation requires action and action requires motivation too. Keep doing your small tasks until your motivation is getting higher.

When your motivation to get success is hungrier in your heart, that is the cue for you to put more effort to get a bigger goal.

Push yourself to be the best or you'll be pushed to be the worst.

It's good if you're serious about your business but sometimes you need to relax, smile and laugh. Meet up with your family or your friends. Listen to their jokes and laugh out loud.
